MY FRONT DOOR !!

Here I am again and this project was very determinedly squashed in between packing away Christmas decs and cooking a family meal.

A lady called Anne from Cornucopia dropped by my blog and suggested that I might like the DOCUMENTED LIFE PROJECT. i investigated and found that not only was it just my thing but it was also endorsed by the legend that is Darcy.

So here is My Front Door. inspiration online from 5 artists as to how they tackled the challenge and a new challenge each week. No prizes, just inspiration.

I started in my journal by spraying pages with water, inking one page with Dyans inks and then closing the book. Sooooooo satisfying. Ink colours influenced by door colours on next pic.

Next I sprayed inks through a stencil and then reversed it to use up the surplus ink and create a negative.I printed some images from internet of front doors and tore, aged and glued them on.

I took a photo of my front door, top right and printed off a photo of a door that I would like and cut and glued them. the yellow door has a poem behind it which basically tells me to not be afraid to open new doors. My house door opens and there are words that describe my home. I then did a title and a bit of squiggling. Really enjoyed this adventure.
thanks for looking. x

  6. Fabulous start, you are doing better than me, I still haven't done my door, though I do have an idea for it. Really clever to layer up all those doors and I like the hidden journalling. i think you will really enjoy this project.
