Sprays ART

Joining in the PA challenge once more and to be fair was not as fired up this time round! Not usual for me but Leandra and team are covering all bases and this one is not really in my zone!
However........

I started by mixing fresco paints with water in little spray bottles using Rose, Mermaid, Bougainvillea and Eggplant. I just used a circles stencil to keep things fairly simple.
Onto this background I stamped one of Lin Browns new leaf stamps in black archival and covered over the background with fresco chalk.

Next I stamped the flower stamp twice, masking and overlapping and created 2 flowers. I used the paint left from the sprays to colour the petals and used a variety of greens for the leaves.
I overstamped the stamens and clear embossed them to make them stand out. I further highlighted the tips with Black Perfect Pearls and used some pink and green Perfect Pearls on the centres and on the leaves.
It was looking a bit too twee for me so I grunged it up with an ART stencil which I sprayed through with Dyan's Black ink and added extra ink to make the letters run.
I thought that the black grungy letters gave a good contrast to the pretty flowers.

Thanks for looking!

Niches shoe

I spent considerable time mulling over the possibilities of the niches challenge! Nipped upstairs during the break of Coronation Street to raid my shoes the other night! There were no shoes that I could part with, so, yesterday, I hit the charity shops!

This is what I came up with...a pair of never worn, size 5, patent, nose-bleed height stilettos! £3.

So, I painted it all over with Matte Medium and then used Fresco, Bougainvillea for the underneath and inside and Fresco Chalk for the actual shoe!

I stamped a selection of PA stamps onto tissue and set to creating a work of art? Also added some tissue manuscript and a little script stamping in magenta archival.
I think that the shoe is much improved and completed it with a bit of net and some paper flowers.
I could quite easily have gone on and on adding embellishments and really bling it up but I liked the stamping on the Chalk background!
Hey Presto, my latest piece......and I have another shoe for a rainy day!

Vivienne Westwood watch out! Haha!

Niches Display case

This niche topic has taken some ruminating over!
Last night I embarked upon a topic and ended up doing something entirely different!
While searching cupboards for boxes I came across this display case. I bought 2 of them a few years ago on the local flea market.
The display case is painted in black, has lots of little shelves, has a gold and beaded trim around the door, mirrors in the backs of the shelves and measures 16"x12"

I decided to fill the shelves with a combo of LP stamps and opulent trims, kindly given to me by a friend who is an interior designer.
First I stamped my images and, advised by Alison Bomber, heat embossed the black stamping in clear.
I coloured my images using Promarkers and cut them out.
Next, I spent ages arranging trims and images.
I cleaned up the display case and glued into place my collection.
I finished it off with great big opulent tassels hanging down from the outside of the case and added a smidgeon of Ruby Treasure Gold to the front of the case.
This will go on my dining room brick wall.
My husband said that it looks like a little theatre, which was very poetic of him!

It was very tricky to photograph because of the mirrors!

Joie de Vivre

Here's a journal page that I created during my time offline when the dreaded tree fell onto our phone line.
I was fortunate enough to attend a couple of Dina Wakley's classes recently and this work was inspired by her class on composition.
I started with a couple of strips of newsprint; stencilled some crackle medium through an alphabet stencil; made bold brushstrokes using Silks; printed with string; printed Joie de vivre; sprayed mica inks; printed with lids and splattered some watered down paint.
The stamp on the tag is a recent purchase from Paperartsy.
Really enjoyed playing in this relaxed style!
