Dina Wakley Birds

I love my garden and the birds that visit so it was a perfect time this afternoon after tidying the garden in the sunshine, to start a new project using Dina Wakley's bird stamps.
I began by randomly spraying Dylusion inks; spraying through stencils and printing the reverse to create a background. Next I stamped numbers and circles using PA fresco Orchid and Snowflake.
I am getting braver with my own handwriting and scribbled away with a Black Promarker and White Uniball Signo.
I stamped the birds onto book pages and coloured and washed them with Inktense crayons.
I cut them out except for the fiddly legs, restamped them onto the page and glued them back onto their legs.
I have started a collection of pieces of text cut from magazines and OUT OF DARKNESS COMES LIGHT seemed appropriate for this particular day, so that was added too.

  5. Beautiful pages Hazel and those birds are on my wish list. Lovely colours and fabulous background. I wish my hand writing was half as good as yours. It's never been fantastic but it's getting real 'old lady wobbly' looking now :-(. Hands don't always do what the brain says these days.
