Another gorgeous week of sunshine and so, not so much crafting from me. I am an outdoor/fair weather girl and don't want to waste the beautiful summer.
However, Kates journal page project was calling to me and I loved the effect of the dots upon the random colours.
I think that I must be in a very defiant mood today, a bit "come on world, chuck what you like at me" kinda day because of the clashing colours that I chose. London Bus, Smoked Paprika and Orchid.
I didn't gesso first because I didn't read all of Kates instructions this morning but will try it again and compare the difference.
I don't have any of the sequin waste so used a stencil for my dots.
My composition should have been the other way up but, because of the way that the image was facing I turned it round.
This image is my very favourite LP stamp.
Pleased with the results and going to play more on this theme. Thanks Kate, love your work.
Oh wow!!!! I love the drama of this! Hazel those colours look just stunning together! This is definitely a case of 'who dares wins'! That image is just the perfect choice too! Love, love, love this! Julie Ann xxx
ReplyDeleteFab colour combo, very hot, hot, hot to match this current weather - great choice of image too, but then I'm biased as I love ALL the LP images!!

I think the colours are fab, too Hazel. Great image, love the finished page.
ReplyDeleteThe page is fantastic Hazel! Fab vivd colours are good effect and great vertical and horizontal drip lines. I love the LP lady's image xx
ReplyDeleteYou may think these colours clash - I just think they are F.A.B.U.L.O.U.S!! A perfect depiction of the weather we've been having. We have lovely sun today but for me - happily- a little bit fresher! Chrisx ps I tried this with and without gesso and preferred with!
ReplyDeleteFabulous drippage, pink and orange go very well together, usually they are teamed with lime green to make a split complementary scheme. Using red instead does appear to add drama, but because all your 3 colors are warm colours they still work together.
ReplyDeleteIt works, and shows you have a natural eye for colour combinations.
I think your color choice is bold and fabulous. The drips in the different directions almost create a pattern. I love that stamp...on my wish list now. Beautiful page!
ReplyDeleteFantastic page, orange & pink is one of my favourite combinations! I love the drips going in different directions too.

That's completely gorgeous. I love the sideways drippage the colours are fab.
ReplyDeleteWell, I wouldn't be brave enough to use those colours but .......I sure wish I was! I think this page is absolutely stunning Hazel and the colours are perfect with that lovely image. Fab drippage too.
