I started by rummaging around to look for old photos of my family when I came across this old page of 60's images that I printed off last year.
I transferred parts of the images to my journal by wetting it and rubbing the ink through with a bone folder.
I added an extra image to fill a gap and was pleased with my background.
Next, I stamped with Clocks 3 and Clocks 4 in archival ink and with embossing fluid and rubbing over with mica powders.
For contrast, I cut out some printed images....The Beatles, minus Ringo....and added to my work.
I ended up scribbling a frame, which seems to be my thing at the moment??
I played around with sentiments but decided to leave it to speak for itself!
It reminded me of my youth and made me smile!
I am linking this to the Paperartsy blog challenge here.
Oh! I remember clearly that around this time UK was the birthplace of youth culture. This page is so cool Hazel! Great background and Ringo is very young and cute!! xxx

ReplyDeleteThis is fabulous. Love all the techniques you've employed and I love the sparkle you get from mica powders. It was a real treat seeing how you created this piece of art x
ReplyDeleteHazel I love this, it fun and funky and such a brilliant idea xx
ReplyDeleteGoodness me, Hazel, that certainly takes me back! I love the life and sheer exuberance of this with its vintage layers. Ah, those geometric hair-dos. I had curls and longed for sleek and shiny locks so that I could look stylish and 'mod'! Your scribbled frame really finishes off this fun collage perfectly and those clocks do remind us of how time flies! xxx
