I have been having a play in a vintage book that I am altering, and I decided to play with some of the Everything Art stamps from Paperartsy.
I began by gessoing my page, adding some strips of previously stamped paper and knocking it back with fresco Taupe. I just played with the stamps and added some TH washi tape.
My remarks were aimed at the lyrics, "Time Goes By So Slowly".
Never happens to me at all. Time Flies By at breakneck speed!
Anyway....with all the busy stamping etc, the space down the middle is a welcome rest!
Sort of White Space. PA challenge!

Pure imagination 2
Another play with profiles and experimenting with white space.
On the advice of my very artistic son, I carried on playing with profiles. I cut out a profile shape on white paper and printed over the shape onto my page. However, the image that I left wasn't very clear, so, I used the paper that I had printed on as a piece of art. Once again writing the words to Pure Imagination, this time as a frame. The stamps that I used are PA Ink and the dog, Kids 6.
Am also entering this into the PA challenge.

Pure imagination
Over on the Paperartsy blog, I have been mesmerised with the concept of white space.
Here is a play with a profile face. Not sure what to think myself, but enjoyed the challenge and have gone on to experiment more with this concept.
The background was a journal page already overprinted and so, with my PA fresco Snowflake, I painted a profile.
I wrote the Willy Wonka song around the profile and scribbled around the edges.
Room for lots of further experiments.

Genius or crazy
The new topic over on the Paperartsy blog is one of my favourite challenges.....White Space!
Forever a challenge for me, as I strive to achieve the perfect balance, but am often unable to stop going, adding extra bits and bobs.
I have recently bought a sentiment that I have been itching to use, and today seemed the perfect time.
I started in my journal by finger painting some stripes in Fresco Caribbean Sea and Southern Skies.
Next, I stamped with blue archival using PA stamps Ink and the dog, Wings 3 and Femme 3.
Then I used one of Darcy'
s new stencils and Magenta archival to create some circles and swiped the ink pad across the page.
A little bit of doodling, the sentiment and the all important line with black pen and...."Step away from the page!".....enough......leave it!
Had a blast doing this, and I hope that you get the point!

It really is white space....it just looks a bit dark as I took the photo in the evening.

Resist
Over on the Paperartsy blog, the current topic for the challenge is Resists. Great topic and I needed to join in.
I worked in my journal using a variety of acrylic paints. I layered up colours, stamping and stencilling.
Next, with a Jofy stencil..022..I applied Heavy Body Gel Medium and left it to dry.

Next, with a Jofy stencil..022..I applied Heavy Body Gel Medium and left it to dry.
It dried clear, and the intention was to darken everything except the flowers and circles.
I sprayed the whole page with copper mica spray and wiped over the gel flowers....then sprayed with distress Hickory smoke...removing the spray from the flowers and circles.
It worked up to a point, but was not as bright as I had hoped. I need to experiment more with different washes, or maybe try Infusions.
When it was dry, I doodled with black and white pens and stamped a Lin Brown sentiment.
Like the finished result, but not as defined as I intended.
I am entering this into the Paperartsy challenge.

Spring, trio of cards.
Over on the Country View Cards blog the topic is Spring and it inspired me to create some cards.
I started by die cutting card blanks using a new die from a pack of 3 new thinlits from Tim Holtz.
I simply inserted a coloured back behind the front of the card to highlight the beautiful detail.
Next, I die cut some flowers from Tim's new wildflower thinlets. I used co-ordinating papers from a 6x6 paper pad. I arranged the flowers into a bunch and secured them with a ribbon.
Finally, on 2 of the cards I used Emma Godfreys new and very useful mini stamps EM18. A really handy go to, when you need a little birthday greeting.
One of the cards will go to my lovely aunt who will be 98 soon, and another to my beautiful daughter.
Thankyou for looking!

Wanderlust, Flora Bowley style
I am having an amazing time over on the Wanderlust course! so many exciting artists to tempt me out of my safe little world.
Last week, I watched Flora Bowley demonstrate her techniques on large canvases.
I began to build up layers on my 20"x20" canvas, starting with warm colours.

I began to build up layers on my 20"x20" canvas, starting with warm colours.
When it was dry, I painted my cold colours!
Next, white acrylic and then black!
Finally, I added some colours that I felt would complete my creation...and here it is!
For my second canvas, a little larger, I was more careful about colour choice, because I wanted to hang it in my hall.
I started with blues and silver.
Added some green
a little bronze, white and brown.
It felt unfinished, so I went bold and overpainted some shapes in purple and framed it with purples. So, here is my second ever large painted canvas.
I forgot to mention that I used a variety of makes of acrylic paint and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience!

Spring, #38 Hazel
Hello, and lets hope that the new Countryview crafts topic has encouraged our weather to join in!
This is my first Design Team piece of work and I am both humbled and honoured to be on board!
As soon as the topic of Spring was suggested, my thoughts turned to the garden and new growth!
Fresh greens and yellows were an obvious choice!
I began with a deep canvas 8x8, and covered the sides and the front with some linen look paper from a Finnabair pad. I used Ranger Multi Medium Matte.

Next, I mixed some Grungepaste with Paperartsy fresco paint Chartreuse, and applied it with a palette knife through a Lin Brown stencil. I stencilled leaves and words onto the canvas.
Then I die cut some lace using Tim Holtz's new die.....loving it, and distressed the edges with some distress inks. I stamped a sentiment from Lin Browns new stamps onto tissue and glued that down. I added some dimension to the leaves by applying some Treasure Gold with a brush.
Next, using Tim Holtz's new Doily die, and his Tattered floral die, I created some flowers using tissue, corrugated card and printed papers.
Here it is, all assembled, with a little treasure gold applied to the edges too, to finish it off!
So, come on Spring, give us your splendour!
You can see all of the Spring creations over on the CVC blog!
Products used....Thinlits Doily Die, Thinlits Lace Die, Paperartsy fresco Chartreuse, Paperartsy stencil.
