Dreamer of Dreams.

This is my first post on my blog for almost a year, but, having been inspired by Alison Bomber and her Wonderful Women tag, I decided to have a play.
I began with layers of fragile papers, ink splurges and string dipped in acrylic ink.
I also painted a mix of PaperArtsy Fresco paints and generally went with my instincts!
Lots of scribbles with Black Stabilo, watercolour crayons and White Posca pen followed and finally my picture of a beautiful woman and sentiment as my focal point.
Finished off with a few of the lyrics on the left hand side from Bridge Over Troubled Waters.
Happy with my creation and going to attempt to link it to Try It on Tuesday.

  1. What a magical page - I adore the colours (no huge surprise there, I guess!) - and the layers of torn paper collaged to add texture. The woman's face emerging from the background is lovely, and works so perfectly with the words. Your scribbly flowers are wonderful, and I'm going to go and listen to Bridge over Troubled Water right now... an old favourite which I realise I've not listened to for an age. So happy that I played a part in inspiring these pages, and it's fabulous to see you back here. (They'd also work for the Flowers theme at Art Journal Journey this month too... just to nudge you onwards!)
Stay safe, stay well, much love,
    Alison xx

  8. Fabulous page, Hazel! It caught my eye in the TioT gallery.

Your header caught my eye also, because the landscape looks remarkably like the area I live (in Mexico). It's lovely wherever it is.
