Resist

Over on the Paperartsy blog, the current topic for the challenge is Resists. Great topic and I needed to join in.

I worked in my journal using a variety of acrylic paints. I layered up colours, stamping and stencilling.

Next, with a Jofy stencil..022..I applied Heavy Body Gel Medium and left it to dry.

It dried clear, and the intention was to darken everything except the flowers and circles.

I sprayed the whole page with copper mica spray and wiped over the gel flowers....then sprayed with distress Hickory smoke...removing the spray from the flowers and circles.

It worked up to a point, but was not as bright as I had hoped. I need to experiment more with different  washes, or maybe try Infusions.

When it was dry, I doodled with black and white pens and stamped a Lin Brown sentiment.

Like the finished result, but not as defined as I intended.
